Hopscotch Women's Center is a nonprofit organisation that offers a range of services for women, including assistance with obtaining welfare and other benefits, job and skill training, support groups, and advocacy for refugees. Their mission is to support women in a way that is culturally sensitive, empowering, connected, well, and safe so that they may feel accepted and equal in society. WaterHarvest is a UK based charity that works with rural communities in India to assist them in building structures to collect and store rainwater, providing them with access to clean water year-round. Om discusses his fieldwork with the villagers and the profound effects that access to water may have on the lives of women and girls in these communities.
Alyson Mitchell, who has been given a golden ticket entry into the London October Marathon on behalf of WaterHavest, is aiming to raise £2,000 for the organisation. Click to donate.
